Imagine – What’s in a word?

”There are no great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination and wonder.” —Ronald Regan

Imagine – What’s in a word?

Imagine what things would be like,

If the world could read your mind.

What types of things would they see?

Would they be giving, loving and kind?

Imagine what you would do,

If you could live your dreams.

To be the person you were meant to be…

It’s not as hard as it seems.

Imagine – Now that’s a word that can potentially have as many meanings as whatever the mind can conjure up.  Many times when this word is uttered, it’s in such contexts as, “Can you imagine that?” The answer to that question is most probably yes.  But what if we take it on step further?  If you can imagine it…can you do it?  Can you have it?  Can you be it?

The human imagination is a powerful creation in itself.

Why not use it to imagine something positive, something worthwhile, something achievable?

To create a mental image, to wonder, to suppose what is true…

Imagine – What’s in this word for you?  If you can tell me, please do!

On Possibilites

On Possibilities

“I dwell in possibilities” Emily Dickinson

On possibilities – Possibilities are endless, they come in all shapes and sizes, in all colors, and in all forms.  When I think of possibilities, I often think of them in terms of creativity.  When I dream of an idea for creating an item for my budding line of handmade gifts, it is amazing how a single element, such as the texture of a swatch of fabric opens the door for a multitude of possibilities on how to incorporate it’s uniqueness into one of my products.  Before I know it, my head is swimming with all kinds of lovely conceptualizations for intricate and elegant designs for my novelties.  For me, such possibilities have a way of kindling my creative fire…sometimes its blaze far exceeds my own expectations.  When it comes to creativity, possibilities are essential!

How about you, why not reach out and grab hold of your creative possibilities?  Let them pour out of you like a stream of gifts.  May they spill over into the lives of those around you spawning possibilities for them too…like gifts that keep on giving.

Peace and love,

Felecia

A Bit of Myself

A Bit of Myself

A Bit of Myself…sharing the secrets of my soul.

I must admit that I have had a bit of a difficult time getting my thoughts down on paper for this post.  I knew what I wanted to say, but I just couldn’t seem to formulate the words. Thinking back on things that’d read or seen that would perhaps inspire me, I came across this excerpt from the classic story “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde:

Basil Hallward:  “every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not the sitter.  The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion.  It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the colored canvas, reveals himself.  The reason I will not exhibit this picture is that I am afraid that I have shown in it the secret of my own soul.”

When I first read this passage, I must say that I had to reread it a couple of times and sort of catch my breath. Continue reading

Inspire me with what moves you.

Inspire Me!

“African Violets” Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Inspire Me…Tell me what moves you; what makes you feel alive.

It has been a while since I’ve taken the time to sit down and write. Words are far too precious to me, and not to be wasted, when I really have nothing to say.  Today I have a word, one that is multifaceted; one that to me, is alive!  What is it, you ask?    “Inspire”!

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.”  T.S. Eliot

“Inspire.”  It’s the kind of word that is meaningless, unless it is a part of something; unless it “brings forth”. I am inspired right now.  Creativity is flowing through my veins; it’s radiating through my fingertips!  Can you feel it?  What does it inspire in you?
