A Friend Indeed

A friend indeedA friend indeed, whether it’s at night or during the day…close by my side is where he wants to stay.

“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.  You are his life, his love, his leader.  He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.  You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.”  (Author Unknown)

A Friend Indeed

(A poem dedicated to my little companion, my little friend Bilbo)

A friend indeedA friend indeed,

yes, that’s my four-pawed friend.

Whenever I’m happy, whenever I’m sad,

he’s the one on which I can always depend.

A friend indeedA friend indeed,

whether it’s night or during the day,

no matter what it is that I’m doing;

close by my side he wants to stay.

A friend indeedA friend indeed,

he can’t tell time nor what day it is of the week.

But he knows how to say “I love you,”

in ways that don’t require him to speak.

A friend indeedA friend indeed,

his sweet, brown eyes, they tell me so much.

Like how much I am needed, (and I need him too).

I hope he know how deeply my heart he has touched.

The Dog Who Loves Christmas!

The dog who loves Christmas

Meet Oscar! The Dog Who Loves Christmas! (Oscar belongs to my dearest friends Dick and Marilyn Hill).

Meet Oscar, the dog who loves Christmas!  T’was the night before Christmas, now where is that little dog?

The Dog Who Loves Christmas!

T’was the night before Christmas,

now where is that little dog?

He’s snuggled before the fireplace;

why not throw on another log!

The dog who loves Christmas

Oscar lounging by the fireplace.

With the house all decorated,

in bright colors of red and green,

Oscar dashed right outside,

but in the snow he could hardly be seen!

He dog who loves Christmas

Oscar playing in the snow.

Oscar, the dog who loves Christmas;

he’s such a good sport.

When he plays he often rolls like a ball,

for his furry legs are so short!

The dog who loves Christmas

Oscar takes a “time out.”

Now do not be mistaken,

although a little dog is he.

Oscar fills the hearts of those around him,

like the blazing warmth of a beautiful Christmas tree!

The dog who loves Christmas

Oscar takes time to spend a moment loving his sister Halo Rose.

Oh That Jackson!

Oh That Jackson

Meet Jackson, the five year old terrier mix who belongs to my dear friend Lew Eliacopoulos. This little guy is small, but oh is he feisty!

Oh that Jackson!  That’s what I say to myself whenever I see this little guy; small he may be, but never underestimate his unending supply of energy!

Oh That Jackson!

Oh that Jackson, what a cute little guy.

He’s small and he’s feisty, but he’s certainly not shy!

oh that Jackson

Jackson in action!

He has very good manners; he never ever begs.

He leaps up in the air like he has springs in his legs!

Oh that Jackson, it is rare when he sits still.

When he does take a rest, he likes to snuggle up and chill.

oh that Jackson

Chill time…be right back!

He has a big sister; Sammy is her name.

She keeps Jackson in line when he’s not being tame.

Jackson with his big sister Sammy…she keeps a watchful eye over him. Wherever she is, Jackson is not far behind!

Here he is with his big sister Sammy…she keeps a watchful eye over him. Wherever she is, he is not far behind!

Oh that Jackson, what a good little friend.

So glad to share a bit of his story…The End.

I hope you've you've enjoyed my story…bye, bye!

I hope you’ve you’ve enjoyed my story…bye, bye!

A Quote to Carry You – September 30, 2013

a quote to carry youA Quote to Carry You

September 30, 2013

“The one unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog…  He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wound and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world…When all other friends desert, he remains.”  George G. Vest, speech in the US Senate, 1884

Although they cannot express it with words, every endearing look, every enthusiastic greeting, every lick  and every snuggle that they give, all say ” l am here, I am your friend.” By now you might have guessed that I am a dog lover.  To me, dogs are furry, four-legged bundles of love.  Faithful friends they are indeed.  No wonder they are called man’s best friend.

To all of those who feel the same…may your special friend make your day a little brighter.

Peace and love,

Felecia
