In You I See beauty, one that’s waiting to unfold…

”Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature.”  —Gerard De Nerval

In You I See

In you I see beauty, one that’s waiting to unfold.

The kind that I want to reach out to and hold.

In you I see brightness, the kind that lights up a room.

Your fragrance, your color, makes the whole world bloom.

In you I see softness, it’s just the quiet nature of you…

You are delicate yet strong, humble and considerate in all you do.

In you I see the type of person who reflects what perfection might be…

But it’s your own unique qualities that are precious to me.

In You I See – There are many aspects that combine to make each of us unique.  And like the photograph above, when we focus on the beauty of any given individual, everything else around them seems to fade away.  Sometimes I envision the world as being one huge garden, with every person being a flower.  Can you imagine what that would be like?

When it comes to flowers, there are so many colors, so many fragrances, and so many different requirements for optimal growth.

Some flowers flourish in full sunlight, while others thrive in the shade.  Some need to be watered everyday, while others can survive during long periods of drought.  Some flowers produce hardy buds that can withstand harsh cold.  But the petals of others seem to shrivel up at the very possibility of a frost.

I could go on at length picturing my imaginary garden with its multiple varieties of flowers and the special needs that they all have.  The more I think about it, the more I realize how similar a garden full of flowers is to the world full of people.  And one thing that both the flowers in a garden and the people of the world require is attentive care in order to reach their full beauty and potential.

Indeed, we are all unique and we all have a purpose, but it is up to us to do what is necessary to bloom.  Is there something that you can do more of to enhance your life and the lives of others?  Just think of how the world would flourish if we all did our part!

Peace and love,

Felecia

Do Not See Me

Do Not See Me

Do not see me amongst the crowd…let me fade into the scenery…

”Sometimes being invisible is the best way to prepare to be seen.”  —FRW

Do Not See Me

Do not see me amongst the crowd…

let me fade into the scenery.

I am not looking; I don’t want to be found.

For now I’m not the flower…I’m simply the greenery.

Do not see me when you pass me by;

I’ll just keep going, turning neither left, nor right.

Let me fade into the horizon that stretches out ahead.

The day is almost over; soon to come is the night.

Do not see me, please, it’s far too soon.

There is so much to do and to prepare.

Everything has a season, a time, and a place.

Trust me, when I’m ready…with you, I’ll be there.

Felecia R. Weber, 2018 www.OntheWingofaDove

”Do not see me” – now that’s kind of a strange thing to say.  One certainly cannot make himself invisible.  Nonetheless, we all have times in our lives when we simply do not want to be seen or heard for that matter.  We just want to slip away and be by ourselves to think, to rest…to “be.”

In today’s world, life can seem like just a long string of interruptions.  Between our cell phones ringing and dinging every five seconds, to those unexpected “events” rearing their not so appealing heads just at the wrong time, being “unseen” seems impossible…but it isn’t really.

”Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’  So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.”  Mark 6:31-32

Taking time to get away from the clamor of life is important.  We all need time to just be by ourselves, no matter who we are or what occupation we partake in.  In the scripture verse quoted above,  Jesus not only instructed his disciples, but he also set an wise example for us today, to do that very thing.  When life’s activities become overwhelming…when we are “seen” too much…that’s the time we need to step away and say, “do not see me.”

We all need time to rest, relax and renew.  No matter what it takes, be sure to do just that for “you.”

Peace and love,

Felecia

A Beautiful Harvest

A Beautiful Harvest…the magnificent gift that you are to others never fades…

“For you created my innermost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.   I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”  Psalm 139:13-14

A Beautiful Harvest

Just think of how tiny you were, not much more than a thought.

Like a tiny seed that sprouts the most delicate leaves;

You were formed hidden in darkness…then you were born…

A beautiful harvest

As you began to grow and explore this amazing world,

Like petals of a flower, your talents began to blossom.

Your fragrance enhanced the world as only you can…

A beautiful harvest

As you matured through the seasons of your life,

Facing the storms, embracing the sun, enduring the harsh cold.

The magnificent gift that you are to others never fades…your life…

is a beautiful harvest

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

I love to nurture my garden and watch it grow as it changes from season to season.  It’s so exciting to see how a single blossom starts out as a tiny spec, pinched closed so tightly that it is hard to determine what type of flower it will become.  Then, little by little, as each bud absorbs all that it needs from the brilliance of the sun above, and the rich nutrients of the earth below, until they unfold into the most magnificent flowers.  When my garden is fully adorned with its colorful bouquets, indeed it brings forth a beautiful harvest.

I believe that a similar beautiful harvest happens, when we surrender our hearts over to an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ.  In the quietness of the soul, a miraculous transformation takes place.  There, through the work of the Holy Spirit, like seeds in nature, our hearts are reborn, nurtured and matured.  In time, the beautiful harvest of what God has planted within us is revealed to the world.

May you consider yielding your heart over to Jesus Christ…and may what he plants within you produce a beautiful harvest to share with those around you.

Peace and love,

Felecia
