What are the things that lie within you? What are the things that make you who you are? Do you know for certain?

What Lies Within You
Is it the beauty from the flowers that speckled the road that you traveled,
on that gorgeous afternoon last spring?
Is it the warmth of the sun that beamed down it’s blinding rays,
on that lazy day at the beach not long ago this summer?
Is it the golden, red, and purple hues that colored your view,
on that walk in the woods this very autumn?
Perhaps it is the anticipation of the first blaze that will radiate mightily,
during a cold and blustery night this coming winter?
Or, is it something deeper, planted within you long ago,
something unseen, but felt more intensely than anything in nature?
What lies within us, what drives our thinking, what guides us throughout our lives?
Might it be all beauty, all warmth, all of the vibrancy and power of life itself,
all rolled into one?
Might it be something borne out of a love, a love so deep
that it is beyond human comprehension?
What is your answer? Do you know it for certain? Think on these things,
seek them out…the answer is there you just need to find it.
