On Discernment

On Discernment

discernmentA Quote to Carry You

February 16, 2015

“Discernment is not a matter of simply telling the difference between right and wrong; rather it is telling the difference between right and almost right.”  Charles Spurgeon

On Discernment…I’ll admit it, I don’t always have the answers when it comes to making certain decisions.  Sometimes situations are such that the right choice isn’t so obvious.  That is when I find myself having to search for a deeper understanding.  Discernment, the ability to detect or perceive with the eye or mind that which is obscure, is an invaluable gift.  It goes beyond mere intuition in that it not only provides keen insight, it also allows one to determine what is true and what isn’t.  Discernment goes deeper than bodily instincts…it touches the spirit, and that is where it matters the most.

May you explore the spiritual quality of discernment and let it guide your actions today.

Peace and love,

Felecia

On LanguagesA Quote To Carry You

February 9, 2015

“Those who know nothing of foreign languages know nothing of their own.”  Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, Maxims and Reflections

On Languages…Languages have a way of connecting people like nothing else can.  To me, listening to foreign languages being spoken can sometimes sound like the most exquisite piece of music serenading my ears.  Words roll off the tongue in a way that is unfamiliar yet tantalizing.  They command my undivided attention so that my mind can absorb every syllable, every inflection, and interpret their meaning.  Similarly to the way music can evoke intense emotions, languages can do that and more.  Languages, through their words, have the ability to say, “I love you.”  To some degree or another, love is a language everybody understands.

May languages of love fill your heart today…so you fully know its meaning.

Peace and love,

Felecia

On Power

On Power

on powerA Quote to Carry You

October 20, 2014

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”  Abraham Lincoln

Power can be a two-edged sword.  It can be a weapon that pierces straight through to the heart or an instrument that cuts away at what is troublesome and unnecessary, allowing for growth and even prosperity.  When power is abused, death and destruction are sure to follow.  Power used properly, can be a light to all the world.

Power reveals what resides within one’s soul.  What does your “power” consist of?

Peace and love,

On Prosperity

On Prosperity

on prosperityA Quote to Carry You

August 11, 2014

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”  Josh Billings

Prosperity doesn’t just happen out of the blue.  Prosperity is something that is grown over time. Like the seasons in nature, I believe that some degree of exertion has to be put forth in order for the fullness of pleasure in life’s most treasured possessions can be realized.  The fierceness of winter melts into the delicateness of springtime.  The brutal heat of summer withers along the crisp trails of autumn.  We long for times of abundant prosperity when we’ve suffered far too long with far too little.  We bask in the comfortable richness offered to us by the fruits of our labor; never wanting to have to face leaner times again.  What we may not realize is that prosperity, like the seasons is not necessarily found in our possessions, but rather, it is in the effort and determination it took to acquire them.

May your season of prosperity come and be enjoyed to the full.

Peace and love,

“Family faces are magic mirrors.  Looking at people who belong to us, we see past, present, and future.”  Gail Lumet Buckley

There is something about being with my family that makes me feel so full and content, as if nothing else in the world matters more than being with them.  I suppose it does have to do with the fact that we truly do belong to each other.  We are connected with a bond that transcends any distance or time that keeps us apart; we can never truly be separated.

I am grateful for my family and I just want to take this moment to tell you that…and to tell you that I love you very much!

Peace and love,

“Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste.”  Charlotte Bronte

A taste of happiness, sounds like a meal we’d all like to partake in.  Yes, sharing and receiving, giving and taking, these are some of the ingredients that are required for experiencing true happiness. Too little of its nourishment may cause one’s soul to become withered and frail.  Too much of it may take away the very joy that happiness is intended to bring.  A “taste” of happiness…that sounds just about right.

May the flavor of your own happiness be tasted by those around you today…bon appetit!

Peace,

Felecia

On Beauty

On Beauty

on beautyA Quote to Carry You

April 21, 2014

“Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting,”  Ralph Waldo Emerson

I remember as a little girl walking to and from elementary school in the springtime.  I loved trailing along the little dirt path that wound through a small patch of woods.  It made me feel as though I were walking through a magical forest…the fresh green leaves seemed to pop out as fast as I could spot them!  The sweetness in the mild air lingered in my nose even after I’d gotten to school or home.  Memories such as these make me so grateful for having the chance to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation that surrounds all of us.  It is a beauty that cannot be written in any other language, nor spoken in any other voice…for it comes from God alone.

May you “read” the words of the beauty that surrounds you today and let it fill your heart with God’s love.

Peace to you,

Felecia

On Crying…Tears of Hope

on crying…tears of hopeOn Crying…Tears of Hope

A Quote to Carry You

March 31, 2014

“Crying releases so much.  God thinks of everything…crying cleanses away what sadness brings.  Like fresh water flowing, the tears lead us through glistening waters to the welcoming shores of hope and love.”  Felecia R. Weber, OnthWingsofaDove.com

We all face sad times.  Life is full of them and they can spring upon us when we least expect them.  It is my hope for you when those times seep into your life, that you will not drown in your sorrows, but that you’ll stay afloat; ride the waves; splash onto shore…open your heart and from God’s abundant provision…let the blessings pour!

Peace and love to you,

Felecia
