Memories…how rich they make us even though money has nothing to do with them; they are part of us and can never be taken away.

There is something about this time of year, the rustling of the leaves when the wind weaves its autumn melody between them.  The heartwarming smells of hearty soups or rich, hot chocolate wafting through the air on a crisp and chilly evening. These are the types of images that remind me of a time long ago.  They cause me to want to take a glimpse into my childhood memories.  The place where the foundation of my life is rooted and that has enriched so many of my days.

“Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons” (Author Unknown)

There are so many memories that pour into my thoughts when I close my eyes and let them play out before me on my private stage.  Playing dress up with my cousins in our grandparent’s attic…I can almost hear the creaking sounds the old wooden floor would make as we pranced around laughing and chatting on.  We never even noticed the mustiness that accompanied each piece of clothing, our only concern was that we each got to don at least one of those remnants  of history.  Or hurrying to get our homework finished in time to play kickball with our neighborhood friends before the darkness of the early autumn nights came to take away the remainder of daylight.  Oh, how the simple days of my youth make me smile and even chuckle to myself; they make me want to linger in the theatre of my remembrances a while longer.

Cozy, happy, safe and secure. Those are the feelings that flood my heart when I take the time to revisit those precious times.  There is something to be said about enjoying the simple pleasures in life…whether they are from days of old or today.  Seasons change, years pass by, but memories are here to stay.

May your day be filled with the warmth and richness that only your special recollections can offer.

Peace and love,

Felecia

I love how our five senses trigger wonderful memories and emotions.
