On A Mother’s Work

On A Mother’s Work

mother's workA Quote to Carry You

May 4, 2015

“A man’s work is from sun to sun, but a mother’s work is never done.” Author Unknown

On a mother’s work.  To say that “a mother’s work is never done” seems like an understatement when it comes to my mom.  It seems that no matter how  late it is at night, or sometimes how early in the wee hours of the morning, I can always count on my mother being there to talk to.  It seems that she never runs out of energy; there is always that one last thing she wants to get done before going to bed.  That one thing invariably turns into those last few things, and before you know it…well suffice it to say that she seems to just be getting her second wind when midnight rolls around  That’s my mom; she’s always doing something.  I so appreciate that about her and I’m happy today that I am much the same way.  As far back as I can remember, my mom has worked hard, no matter what the task, no matter what time of the day or night.  There is something else that I remember even more so too.  Through my mothers work, she showed her love for my dad, my sisters, and me…and that is truly something that she has done, and still does, so very well!  Thanks for all you do Mommy…I love you!

May you be sure to take the time this week to let your mother know how much her work means to you.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Can You Feel What I Feel?

Can you feel what I feel

Can you feel what I feel?  The warmth of the fire that burns within me.  When your eye catches mine and we needn’t exchange words.

“Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.”  Khalil Gibran

Can You Feel What I Feel?

Can you feel what I feel?

The warmth of the fire that burns within me.

When your eye catches mine and we needn’t exchange words.

The sun doesn’t have to be shining when love glows that brightly.

All is right, all is perfect between us, nothing can separate us, can it?

Can you feel what I feel?

The blackness that hovers around me now because you are not here.

The smothering pain that tightens with every breath that I take.

Everywhere I turn, emptiness fills the space that you once occupied.

It seems like a part of me is missing; I am incomplete.

Can you feel what I feel?

Of course, you must, yes I know that you can.

For there in your heart, even though invisible, it is there.

I know because it is deep within my heart too…

Love knows no boundaries, not even time nor space.

Can you feel what I feel?

The love that still exists between us, the love that still binds us.

Feel it, caress it, hold onto it tightly…and never let it go.

They say that love is just a feeling, an emotion at best.

But no, to me love is alive and it never stops growing…

Love is eternal…and it keeps you alive in my heart always.

Felecia R, Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

No matter what happens in life, or death, love is a power that binds.  Once it is born, nurtured and matures, it may take on various forms, but I believe it never truly dies.  May the love that you share with those who are dear to you always grow unhindered and live on in your hearts always.

Peace and love,

Felecia

It Would Have Been

It would have been

Our wedding day, November 21, 1987…forever will I cherish that day and the many beautiful years that followed.

It would have been like all those precious moments we’ve lived together and shared through our special love.

It Would Have Been

It would have been so lovely to share our anniversary with you today.

I am sure you’d vividly recall how we spent each one, over the years, along the way.

It would have been such a joy for me to see you in your favorite black sweater.

My sweet husband smiling at me through candlelight…my, nothing could be better.

It would have been such a thrill for me to be held tightly in your arms.

To hear you whisper, “I love you” to me; words written on our hearts like sparkling, silver charms.

It would have been like all those precious moments we’ve lived together and shared through our special love.

Although I’ll never get to be with you again here on earth…I am full of hope, my dear, sweet one, that we’ll join each other in heaven above.

Felecia R. Weber 2014, OntheWingofaDove.com

I dedicate this poem to my precious, late husband, Stephen Cullen Weber.  He made my life so full and complete over the almost 27 years we’ve shared in marriage.  I cannot express fully with words what joy, contentedness and honor I’ve had the privilege to experience during that time.  I was given so much and I am so grateful for that.  Going forward I can only promise that I will do all that I can to share what I have now, with those around me whom I love so much.

Peace and love,

Felecia

On Giving

On Giving

on givingA Quote to Carry You

“I don’t think that there is anything that we can give in life that causes more joy and pain…than love.”  Phoebe Winston

Giving from the heart requires the courage to expose ourselves to a multitude of reactions from those on the receiving end. For as many ways as we can give away our love, there are just as many ways others can receive it, interpret it and act upon it.  That being said, to give my love to others is one of the greatest gifts that I have ever received…hmmm, does that make sense?

To give love is to receive love…may you give yours freely today.

Peace and love,

Felecia

“Never leave me, for you are the oxygen that I need to breathe.” (Anonymous)

To me, these words express what love is beautifully!  I do not think that I need to say anything more…do you?

Love,

Taste and See

Taste and See

“Taste and see that The Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him!” Psalm 34:8

We cannot always know what lies ahead of us.  Sometimes it feels as though we can barely wade through the murky waters that seem to flood out anything good in our lives.  The dimness that has captured our focus surrounds us and threatens to pull us down.  When even a glimmer of hope comes along, we tend to grasp it so tightly, as if our lives depend upon it.  What is it? Where does the strength to rise up out of any grave situation with a vibrancy that can conquer the darkest night come from? Continue reading

A Quote to Carry You – September 30, 2013

a quote to carry youA Quote to Carry You

September 30, 2013

“The one unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog…  He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wound and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world…When all other friends desert, he remains.”  George G. Vest, speech in the US Senate, 1884

Although they cannot express it with words, every endearing look, every enthusiastic greeting, every lick  and every snuggle that they give, all say ” l am here, I am your friend.” By now you might have guessed that I am a dog lover.  To me, dogs are furry, four-legged bundles of love.  Faithful friends they are indeed.  No wonder they are called man’s best friend.

To all of those who feel the same…may your special friend make your day a little brighter.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Speak to me

Speak to me...

“Hydrangea”, Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove

Speak to me…love is a language not spoken with words.

“Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choice fruits.”  (Song of Solomon 4:16 NIV)

Speak to me…

Hush, come closer, press against me,

let me hear you.

No, not with words spoken from your lips,

let me know you.

Breath in deeply, exhale slowly,

your thoughts are there, I can feel them. Continue reading
